Running for fun

Representatives from Thomas Bragg and Sons in Knowle ran 5km as part of the annual Knowle Fun Run on 21 May.

Area Development Managers Fiona Campbell and Garry Hughes donned their trainers and running gear and joined over 1,500 runners to help support the event’s chosen charities: Prostate Cancer UK, Motor Neurone Disease Association, Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice with 30% being retained for local causes.

Funeral Arranger Kayleigh Hughes also got involved by volunteering to be a marshal on the day, supporting event organisers – the Knowle and Dorridge Lions Club – to ensure the event ran smoothly.

Fiona said: “The Knowle Fun Run was amazing! The atmosphere was electric and the spectators really encouraging.

“All of us at Thomas Bragg enjoy getting out into the local community and believe it is really important that we support local events and charities.”

Bob Thurtle, Run Co-ordinator, commented: “It’s great to see Thomas Bragg Funeral Directors getting involved with our popular Fun Run, which next year celebrates 35 years.

“We appreciate all the support and the advert in the programme which is delivered to 7,000 local homes.”

The duo raised £160 contributing to the £36,000 the Lions hope to have raised overall by the event.
